What is a gear and what does it do

Basic Tasks of Gears:

1. Transmitting Movement:

Transmits the rotational movement of one gear to the other gear.

2. Speed Control:

It can increase or decrease the rotational speed according to the gear dimensions. Gear transmission from large to small increases speed, transmission from small to large decreases speed.

3. Torque (Power) Transmission:

It meets the power needs of machines by increasing or decreasing the rotational moment (torque).

4. Changing the Direction of Movement:

Gears are used to change the direction of movement. For example, the direction of movement can be rotated 90 degrees thanks to gear systems (bevel gears) operating at right angles.
